Social Sciences students benefit from FSC's rich extracurricular and intellectual life. Through the Florida Lecture Series, expert practitioners come to campus to engage with current issues firsthand — including elected officials, judges, wrongfully convicted inmates, psychiatric nurses, and other specialists, bringing the real-world dimensions of social science directly into the academic conversation.

Students also have access to unique on-campus research resources, including the Center for Florida History, the McKay Archives Center, and the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame, providing primary source material for original research projects.

Present Your Research to the World

Each year, more than 250 FSC students travel to major regional, national, and international conferences to present their work to industry experts. Social Sciences majors conduct original research, often in collaboration with faculty, and bring their findings to professional audiences across the country. On-campus resources, including the McKay Archives Center and the Center for Florida History, provide unique primary source access that makes FSC research distinctive.
