Branscomb Memorial Auditorium

Set on Florida Southern's Frank Lloyd Wright campus, Branscomb Memorial Auditorium is one of the finest concert halls in the country. With seating for more than 1,700 guests and natural acoustics compared by visiting artists to Carnegie Hall, it is a distinctive setting for performances, ceremonies, and large-scale events.

About the Space

Completed in 1963 and opened in 1964, Branscomb Memorial Auditorium was designed by architect Nils Schweizer, a protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright, to complement Wright's original Child of the Sun vision for the campus. The auditorium is named for Bishop John W. Branscomb of the Florida Conference of The United Methodist Church.

The hall is renowned for its acoustics, with a natural audio reverberation time of approximately 1.3 seconds, and has hosted artists and performing groups from six continents through the College's annual Festival of Fine Arts series. It remains a fully integrated part of the College's fine arts complex and serves both campus and public audiences, from concerts and recitals to Convocation and the Florida Lecture Series.
