Academic Support Services

It Takes A Community: Peers, Professors, and Professionals

From your first day at Florida Southern, a team invested in your success welcomes, supports, and celebrates you at every step. Advisors help you plan your path. Peer mentors, success coaches, and writing coaches help you master your courses. Librarians help you find and use the right sources.

Academic Advising

You’ll be paired with an academic advisor who will help you:

  • Choose a major and plan your path to graduation
  • Understand the class registration process
  • Navigate degree and general education requirements
  • Explore career goals and plans after graduation

Your advisor is also your connection to other campus resources, so you always know where to turn.

New Students: Your advisor builds your first-semester schedule based on your interests and any credit you’ve already earned. First-year students complete a course preference form before Orientation, and transfer students can take part in phone advising before the semester begins.
